About the event

Guide Dogs promotional banner for the Create & Connect early childhood group program. The banner features the Guide Dogs logo and the heading "Join us for... Create & Connect!" with the text: "Explore accessible art through a variety of tactile, sensory and creative materials." Event details include 10:00–11:30 am on Tuesday 18 August at Guide Dogs Victoria Kew Campus, 2–6 Chandler Highway, Kew VIC 3101. On the right, a photo shows a young child and an adult exploring bright modelling clay together, with the adult gently guiding the child's hand during a tactile art activity.

We’re delighted to invite you and your family to our upcoming Create & Connect Early Childhood Group Program!

This creative, sensory-rich group is designed for children aged 0–5 who are blind or have low vision and will be guided by Art Therapist Mei Sze, who specialises in sensory motor art therapy.

Join us for a relaxed and engaging session where children and their families can explore accessible art through a variety of tactile, sensory and creative materials. Together, we’ll experiment with different art mediums, discover new textures, colours and techniques, and enjoy the process of creating in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment.

Drawing on sensory motor art therapy principles, Mei Sze will guide families through creative experiences that encourage exploration, self-expression, connection and relaxation. The session focuses on creativity rather than the finished product, supporting children to explore, make choices, develop early concepts, strengthen sensory awareness and express themselves through art. Families will have opportunities to create alongside their child, connect with other families, and take home ideas for accessible art experiences that can be enjoyed together.

Parents, siblings, extended family members, carers and support people are all welcome to join.
