Chair Yoga is a gentle, welcoming and accessible form of yoga designed for people of all ages and abilities. Using a chair for support, you can enjoy the many benefits of yoga in a way that feels safe, comfortable and achievable.

Whether you’re managing limited mobility, recovering from an injury, living with balance concerns, using a wheelchair, or simply looking for a gentler way to stay active, Chair Yoga can help you keep moving with confidence.

The chair provides extra stability and support, allowing you to perform poses either seated or standing while holding the chair for balance. It makes yoga more approachable without taking away the benefits.

Regular practice can help improve:

• Flexibility and mobility

• Strength and balance

• Confidence in movement

• Breathing and relaxation

• Body awareness and mindfulness

• Overall wellbeing

No previous yoga experience is required. In fact, many participants are trying yoga for the very first time.

At Guide Dogs Victoria, we believe wellbeing should be accessible to everyone. Chair Yoga creates a supportive and inclusive environment where you can move at your own pace and focus on what your body can do.

You’re never too old to start moving. And you don’t need to be flexible to begin.
