Long cane refresher for Guide Dog Handlers

Are you keen to brush up your long cane skills? 

Come stay with us at our residential training facility in Kew for a two-day long cane refresher program.  

Included in the program:  

• Trial of long cane options and variety of cane tips.   

• Boost efficiency in using the long cane, traversing stairs, negotiate road crossings and safely navigate dynamic environments.  

• Opportunity to connect with others during group activities and personal free time in the residence.  

Cost: $539 includes one night accommodation all meals, and 24-hour staff support or $193.99 per hour for up to 10 hours, 1 to 1 instruction. 

For individuals with NDIS funding, this can be drawn from your Capacity Building or Core Support sections of your funding plan 

The following program dates are currently available for the remainder of 2025: 

• May 6 to 7 

• June 10 to 11 

• July 22 to 23 

• Sept 2 to 3 

• Oct 14 to 15 

• Nov 25 to 26
