- The cost per session is $129 per person for the sessions on 18 October, 1 November, and 22 November. For the final, three-hour ‘Festive Roast’ session on 6 December, the cost is $226 per person, to cover the extra time required for a festive-themed recipe and celebration.
About the event
Cooking can be a fun and rewarding experience, but it might feel a bit overwhelming at times. Whether you’re learning to cook after recent vision loss or just beginning to explore the kitchen, our Occupational Therapists are here to support you every step of the way!
Join us for a two-hour session in our new Client training kitchen, where you’ll have the chance to learn or enhance basic cooking skills, all while building confidence in your independence and safety at home. Connect with fellow participants, share favourite recipes and cuisines, and discover new meals and baked treats to add to your cookbook!
Session dates:
- Friday 18 October: Quick and Easy – two hours. $129 per person.
- Friday 1 November: Stir-fry Masters – two hours. $129 per person.
- Friday 22 November: Sweet Delights – two hours. $129 per person.
- Friday 6 December: Festive Roast – three hours. $226 per person.
The cost per session is $129 per person for the sessions on 18 October, 1 November, and 22 November.
For the final, three-hour ‘Festive Roast’ session on 6 December, the cost is $226 per person, to cover the extra time required for a festive-themed recipe and celebration.
These fees will be invoiced to your chosen funding support after the event.
Time: 9.15 am to 11.30 am.
Location: Guide Dogs Victoria Kew Campus, 2-6 Chandler Highway, Kew, 3101.
Age Group: 18+ years old.
Additional cost: $20 per session to cover the cost of your grocery portion (GDV will provide the basic ingredients and kitchen utensils).
What to bring: Takeaway or Tupperware storage containers to bring your food home for later.
RSVP: Register via Cook to Connect registration. Please register by Thursday 3 October 2024.
Participants are invited to stay after the session to enjoy lunch together and savour the delicious results of your hard work.
