About the event

Guide Dogs Victoria is offering upskilling to Disability Support Workers and Carers. Learn the practicalities that can help a Support Worker provide the highest standard of care to a person with vision loss.

Topics covered in the training include:

  • Learn the most common causes of vision loss and the functional challenges associated with vision loss
  • How to meet, greet and interact with a person who has vision loss
  • Learn what is important with Guide Dog etiquette
  • How to provide social and practical support when eating out
  • Human Guide training
  • Communication Myth Busting
  • Opportunity for Puppy cuddles

Where: Guide Dogs Victoria – Betty Amsden Education Centre. 2-6 Chandler Hwy, Kew 3101

Time: 10am to 1pm

Cost: $50 includes refreshments
