About the event
Guide Dogs Victoria is offering upskilling to Disability Support Workers and Carers. Learn the practicalities that can help a Support Worker provide the highest standard of care to a person with vision loss.
Topics covered in the training include:
- Learn the most common causes of vision loss and the functional challenges associated with vision loss
- How to meet, greet and interact with a person who has vision loss
- Learn what is important with Guide Dog etiquette
- How to provide social and practical support when eating out
- Human Guide training
- Communication Myth Busting
- Opportunity for Puppy cuddles
