International Guide Dog Day 2020
Today we celebrate International Guide Dog Day and the important role Guide Dogs play in supporting people all around the world with low vision or blindness to achieve their goals and live independently.
This is a very special day for all of us here at Guide Dogs Victoria as it is not only an opportunity to recognise these remarkable dogs but it is also a day to honour those who help us ensure the most vulnerable members of our community are supported in the good times and in times of crisis.
Our Guide Dogs wouldn’t be the incredible animals they are without the support of our community. That’s why we felt it was still important to celebrate our International Guide Dog Day award winners this year, even in the midst of this unprecedented situation we are currently all facing.
Due to shut down restrictions, we have been unable to hold an awards ceremony; instead we have prepared the video below of Guide Dogs Victoria CEO, Karen Hayes, with more information about this year’s International Guide Dog Day award winners.
Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and thank you for being a valuable part of the Guide Dogs Victoria community.
