About Our Therapy Dogs
Our Therapy Dogs are career-changed Labrador Retrievers from our Guide Dog training and Puppy Raising programs. They are between 12-24 months old, trained in basic obedience, socialisation, and home behaviour.
Therapy Dogs offer companionship and emotional support to individuals with diagnosed disabilities, illnesses, or social isolation. We place Therapy Dogs with individuals aged 4 and above across Victoria, from children to older adults.
Therapy Dogs can assist with:
- Providing emotional support
- Increasing a sense of community
- Promoting physical activity
- Encouraging routine
Please note: Our Therapy Dogs are placed within the capacity of a Companion Animal, not a formal Assistance Animal, and therefore do not have legal public access rights.
