About the event

A parent with their arm wrapped around their child, holding a book. Seated in front of a couch. The parent and child are smiling at each other.

Whether you’re a health professional, parent, carer or teacher, join Guide Dogs Victoria’s Children’s Services Team and learn about the vital services we offer to children with low vision or blindness.

The informative session will share insights from Alicia San Martin, Clinical Lead of Children’s Services, about the latest Orientation and Mobility (O&M) assessment and intervention strategies for children with Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI).

Now the most common form of vision loss in children in the western world, CVI interventions can be very different to those for ocular based vision conditions.

Discover the impact of O&M and Occupational Therapy (OT) for children, resources to support children’s development and independence, and the benefits of our specialised children’s camps.

Plus, meet and connect with our dedicated early childhood staff and tour our sensory residential facility to experience the supportive environment firsthand.

Location: Guide Dogs Victoria Kew Campus, 2-6 Chandler Highway, Kew 3101.

Date and time: Thursday 6 March, 4 pm to 6 pm

RSVP: Please RSVP and register your attendance by Friday 28 February.
