About the event

With the announcement that Government restrictions have been extended, our team at Guide Dogs Victoria have created a weeks’ worth of interactive virtual events, designed especially for Children’s Mobility Service Clients.

The series of virtual programs will run twice daily during the first week of the Spring School Holidays (Monday 20 September 2021 – Thursday 23 September 2021) and will be facilitated by Guide Dogs Victoria staff and specialists.

Children will be able to connect with others their age, learn new skills and most of all – have fun!

Sessions on offer include:

  • Yoga and mindfulness
  • Scavenger hunt
  • School transition session
  • Q&A session with a sporting star
  • Brownie making cooking class (cooking set required – will be posted to students)

For each session, your child will be posted a small gift to show our appreciation for their participation!

Our morning sessions will run from 10am to 11:30am and are best suited for primary aged students, from 7 to 12 years of age. Afternoon sessions will run from 2pm to 3:30pm and are better suited for secondary school aged children, from 13 to 18 years.

Siblings are welcome to participate in the sessions too, at no extra cost.

Download further information on sessions here.

Children are invited to attend as many sessions as they like.

Cost for NDIS participants is $80 per session.

Programs and Camps can be funded under a number of different line items. When applying to attend you will be asked to confirm how you will pay:

1. Innovative Community Participation NDIS reference number: 04_210_0125_6_1 Unit cost item, specific to the program.
2. Community Participation Activities NDIS reference number 09_011_0125_6-3 Unit cost item, specific to the program.
From Guide Dogs Victoria NDIS Handbook July 2021.

The development of these programs has been made possible by the generous contributions of the Shine on Foundation.

To RSVP, please email Samantha Moffatt at samantham@guidedogsvictoria.com.au by Friday 10 September 2021.

We look forward to catching up with you all virtually!
